Bank statements for mortgage and loan applications, in a spreadsheet
Mortgage and loan applications often ask for several months of bank statements. Converting them to Excel gives you or your broker every transaction in one sortable sheet per statement, checked against its opening and closing balance.
Convert a statementHow it works
- Download the statements you were asked for as PDFs from your online banking.
- Upload each statement and download its Excel file.
- Sort or filter the Transactions sheet, for example to total deposits or list regular payments.
- Check the Summary sheet: it shows each account's balances, totals and whether the balance check passed.

FAQ
Can I send the spreadsheet to my lender instead of the statements?
Ask your lender or broker. Lenders usually ask for the statements themselves; the spreadsheet is for reviewing them, for example to add up income or spot regular outgoings.
What if a statement covers more than one account?
Each account gets its own section, and each is checked against its own opening and closing balance.
How do I know no transaction was missed?
Every conversion is checked: opening balance plus credits minus debits must equal the closing balance, to the cent. If it doesn't, we show the difference and the rows to check.
