What we read from BMO statements
Every transaction
Date, description, debit, credit and running balance, in the order printed.
Several accounts
A statement that covers more than one account gets a section per account, each checked on its own.
Scanned pages
Pages without a text layer are read from the page image.
Balance check
Opening balance plus credits minus debits must equal the closing balance, to the cent.
How to download your BMO statement
- 1Sign in to BMO Online Banking.
- 2Go to My Accounts and choose the account.
- 3Open its eStatements and save the PDF.
- 4Drop it in the box above.
BMO stores eStatements for 7 years. If the account still gets paper statements, switch it under Change Statement Options first.
What you get
Rows from a made-up sample statement. The Excel file has a Transactions sheet and a Summary sheet (bank, period, balances, totals and the balance check result); the CSV has the transactions only. See a full sample →
BMO statement FAQ
What if BMO lets me download a CSV?
Then you already have a spreadsheet. RapidStatements is for the PDF statements — useful for older months, or when the PDF is all you have.
What if the balance doesn't add up?
We show the difference and the rows to check. A conversion that fails uses no pages.
Is RapidStatements affiliated with BMO?
No. We're an independent tool that reads the PDF statements you download yourself.
